I was trying to locate something on my multiply.com site, when I realized they didn't have a "search this site" button. They have search, but it (or, rather, Google) searches all multiply.com blogs, photos, etc. There's not even an "advanced search" option to limit returns by date or whatever. Nor does the multiply site appear to have an index archiving blog posts by month or year. So, I resorted to my site's "media locker" (don't ask). There, I found these crazy red-alert triangle signs attached to some of my photos, along with this helpful threat:
You have unshared media pending deletion. Upgrade to a Premium account and Multiply will provide a permanent archive of all of your priceless memories. To which I posted the blog response: Relax, Multiply. Stay calm. It's okay. I'd never store priceless memories on a site like this.
Actually, multiply isn't a bad site. And they're not going to delete anything serious. They will re-size some of the larger photos (usually after 30 days) to take up less space on their servers or whatever. And they will delete photos held in a sort of "draft" or "pending" area. (First you upload photos, then you put them in albums on your site, called "publishing" or "sharing'.)
What's disappointing is the continued promising and threatening that's meant to convince me to buy the upscale version. All it does is convince me that multiply will never be worth a serious investment of my efforts, concern (or money).
But, umm... thanks for all your worry, Pete.
